About caladium Pink Beauty

Caladiums, also known as angel wings or elephant ears, are houseplants with glossy foliage and heart-shaped leaves. These beautiful leaves come in green, pink, red, white and silver. Their appearance is often enhanced by detailed veins and translucent spots. Simply magnificent! These plants also go by many other names, such as Heart of Jesus, Fancy-leaved Caladium and Spear-leaved Caladium. Fun fact! It's thought that the unique patterns and colors of caladiums serve as camouflage to help the plant blend into the dappled light of the forest floor and avoid being eaten by herbivorous animals.

๐Ÿ“ Expert Advice

๐ŸŒฑ Soil Advice:

Use a mixture of potting soil, perlite and sphagnum moss to create a well-draining, moist soil. Spray the foliage from time to time to give it extra moisture. You can place a dish with clay balls and water under the pots.

๐ŸŒพ Sowing Advice:

Bury bulbs in pots or in the ground when spring arrives, after the last frost or indoors. In early winter, the plant goes dormant and the leaves begin to dry out. Put the pot in a dry, shady spot and take it out again in spring. You can also dig up the bulb and place it in a box or bag with wood shavings to keep it dry over winter.

โœ‚๏ธ Pruning:

Cut all leaves in winter
