Welcome gardeners to a new blog full of updates !
Aphydle finds her rhythm
You may have already met Aphydle, our daily plant-guessing game β and last week, she finally felt properly at home. The little sub-app got the polish she deserved: smoother loading, on-brand styling, a refresh chain that actually refreshes, and proper server-side rendering so search engines and link previews see her in all her leafy glory.
Plant pages, now pinned with care
Open a plant page this week and you'll spot a quiet but lovely upgrade: every origin pin is finally on the map. Until last week, plants whose origins were stored as a region β without a specific country β were being silently skipped. Now, whether your plant hails from a single country or a vast region, its story shows up beautifully on the world map.
We also took a moment to rework what the web behind the scenes thinks plant pages are. Instead of pretending each plant was a Product with an Offer (which Google was starting to side-eye), our pages now describe themselves as proper Things and Taxa β gentler for SEO, kinder for sharing, and better for the long run.
And over in the Garden? Task occurrences β those sweet little reminders to water, mist, or repot β now save reliably every time. A stray space in our code was confusing the database; one tiny fix, and everything clicked into place.
Tiny touches that add up
A few smaller stories deserve a little spotlight too.
Daily reminders used to drift up to two hours past your chosen time β gently rude. They now arrive when you asked them to, right on the hour. The French navigation menu used to bump into itself on medium screens between tablet and laptop; now everything lines up neatly, with no elbows in the ribs. And whenever we ship a fresh update, the new version actually activates the moment you tap the little update toast β no more lingering on the old one until you remember to refresh.
We also tightened a few things you'll never see, in the very best sense: cryptographic randomness now powers our verification codes and upload IDs, profile data is locked down against sneaky tampering, and the GDPR export now returns absolutely everything personal β including plant histories and any private notes left along the way. Quiet care, given freely.
