Weekly Update - 02 to 07 March
Summary: Aphylia’s March 2–7 weekly update covers mobile UI readability fixes, guided onboarding, new French domain support, Parent Mode toxic plant warnings, security hardening, and newly added plants.

Hello dear gardeners ! It is our weekly appointment to check what’s new on Aphylia ! Let’s get started !

Improved UI

This week, plenty of improvements have been made to the UI.

First, we corrected how recipes are displayed on smartphones. The cooking time was previously too large and was hiding most of the recipe names, so we decided to make it smaller to improve readability.

We also improved the readability of the seasonal timeline on mobile devices.

Guiding our users

Additionally, we added a list of guided actions to help users start their account and make sure they don’t miss any steps during their Aphylia setup. You can now switch between gardens directly from the page of a garden, instead of going back and forth to the garden list.

French and English

We are very proud to announce that we have added Aphylia.fr to our list of domains. This website will be exclusively in French.

We are working thoroughly to make the website as polished as possible in both languages. Because of this, you might have noticed some translation changes this week, mostly in French.

Parent Mode

Plants are not always safe for humans or animals, and we have been working on a way to help parents and pet owners better understand the risks that certain plants may pose.

Now, when new users go through the onboarding process, they can indicate whether they have children and/or animals. If they do, Parent Mode will automatically be activated.

When browsing the app, users will see a more visible warning on plants that may be dangerous to children or animals.

Toxic and Dangerous Plants

We have added a badge that appears on discovery cards to warn users when a plant is toxic.

To make this warning clearer and more precise, the badge will now adapt depending on who the plant is dangerous for:

  • Only pets toxic → “Toxic to pets” / “Lethal to pets”

  • Only humans toxic → “Toxic to humans” / “Lethal to humans”

  • Toxic to both → “Toxic” / “Lethal”

This makes it easier to quickly understand the level of risk, especially for families with children or pets.

Facebook

We have also created a Facebook page for Aphylia so you can follow updates and news about our app !
