Hi again, dear gardeners! The Aphylia team went through a lot of intern changes so we can be more organized and more efficient to provide you with the best app to help you with your plants, hence the lack of blog last week. But we are back, and with a few interesting new tools for you! Put your shovel and rake aside and let’s go through them together.
Plant Scanning
No plant will be unknown to you anymore! Thanks to the new scanning tool at the top right corner of your screen if you are on a laptop, or at the bottom on your phone, you can indentificate a plant. You can either take a picture through the app or use a picture already in your gallery. However, be aware that the tool isn’t 100% reliable, therefor, results are always accompanied with percentages of probabilities of different possible plants resembling the plant you are looking for, and pictures to compare them. To create this new tool, we used the Kindwise API. Now arm yourself with your scanner and find out what plants are surrounding you, and don’t hesitate to search them on the Encyclopedia or request them to be added if they are missing!

Friends request
Are you ready to make friends on the app? We made everything so you can create contact easily through the Friend Feature. Now, you will receive a notification once you receive a friend request and through it, you will be able to either accept it, or refuse it and delete it if you are more of a lone plant… Along with this notification improvement, the Friend Request page has been reworked for both Mobile and Desktop to be more practicle and remove the couple of bugs.

Improved messages
Since now you can have friends, you might want to keep in touch about the growth of their garden! You have the possiblity to send them messages and the tool has been recently improved with the ability to browse through your messages and also look for a picture through a gallery linked to your conversation.
More efficient AI Assistant To make your AI garden assistant more relevant in his answers to you, we corrected the information given to it so it can have a full view of your garden. No more back and forth trying to have the best answer!
And a few more details…
Reworked skeleton loading on multiple pages to match the newest UI for Garden and Profile pages
Reworked the landing page to be more dynamic and controllable by admins via Advanced Pages
Admins can now update landing page information to reflect the current state of the website
Added clear buttons to search inputs for easier clearing of large entries
Corrected all Instagram links on the landing page
Allowed Admin Pro and Editors to access “Plant Info” for plants still in progress, while regular users see an “Under Construction” page until information is verified
Of course, as every week, some new plants have been added to our encyclopedia :
